Learn how to make homemade Teopoki – the spicy and creamy Korean
noodles that are all the rage! Easy, quick and better than takeout.
🥢 Ingredients (2 servings)
✔ 200g of Tteok (Korean rice balls) – you can find them in Asian markets
✔ 100g of ramen or udon noodles
✔ 2 tablespoons of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
✔ 1 tablespoon of honey or brown sugar
✔ 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
✔ 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
✔ 1 cup of milk or coconut milk (for a creamy version)
✔ 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
✔ Green onions and sesame seeds to decorate
🔥 Step by Step (In 15 Minutes!)
1️⃣ Cook the Tteok and Noodles In a saucepan, boil water and cook the rice balls (Tteok) for 3-5 minutes until they are tender. soft. Drain and set aside.
Cook the pasta according to package directions.
2️⃣ Prepare the Creamy Spicy Sauce In a frying pan, heat the sesame oil and sauté the garlic until golden.
Add gochujang, honey, soy sauce and mix well.
Add the milk and stir over low heat until thickened.
3️⃣ Mix Everything and Finish Add the Tteok and the pasta to the sauce, stirring until well combined.
Finish with chopped chives and sesame seeds.
💡 Tips for Perfect Teopoki 🌶️ Adjust the seasoning: Use more or less gochujang.
🧀 Cheese version: Add 2 tablespoons of cream cheese.
🍤 Extra protein: Add shrimp or shredded chicken.
